As we approach the season of advent once again let us make use of these precious weeks of preparation to have a special encounter with the Lord.
Your priest is there for your services not only to listen to confessions but also to listen to you as a person. Any concerns of yours that need to be discussed or shared with your spiritual leader must not be kept under the carpet or buried. Feel free to stop in or invite me just for a talk. Remember some burdens or issues of load must be taken off to allow us to prepare adequately and happily for the birth of the Lord at Christmas.
Any time of the day, apart from Mass hours, can work for me. Make an appointment with the secretary or just come as you may wish. God cares and thinks of us all. Let us acknowledge him in the psalms and praise him through this exercise.
PSALM 8 ( PRAYER ) O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you set in place, what are mere mortals that you should think about them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority, the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents. O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
I will praise you, Lord with all my heart. I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High! (Psalm 9: 1-2).
Blessings, Fr. Seth
